What does "Lazy Dynamite" mean?

――Lazy Dynamite is just a song by Paul McCartney that I like and thought would suit my work for a first solo exhibition.

What do you think are your own strengths and the strengths of your work?

――I think that I’d like to be more comfortable with moving beyond relying on source material for the designs. I think that it is a crutch and that I should start putting more of my drawings on my ceramics and referencing these giants of Ukiyo-e less. Because it is hard moving away from a style that has worked in the past but I’d like to pursue something that’s more me I guess.

What is your next goal?

――I just want to keep making, we’ve got a nice studio set up in Sydney with my lovely friends who are painters and ceramicists that I went to art school with. I’m very lucky to be able to have this opportunity that two of my friends Marianna and Mackenzie managed to organize and set up. It’s great to have a place to just make work and bounce ideas and hang out, it’s like being at art school again :^)

For the last question, do you have any plans to do collaborative work with Marianna and Mackenzie?

――I’d be keen to do something collaborative with Marianna and Mackenzie. 　　　　

But me and our friend Ben King, who’s also a ceramicist, have talked about making something collaboratively before. You should check out his art if you haven’t seen it before. He’s foejorty on Instagram but he’s locked out of his account. We’re all friends and work in the same studio so a collaborative work is always on the cards.
