The meaning of ‘CONVENIENCE YOUNG’ is youth born in an age of convenience.
In the midst of a world full of convenience, she continues to create.
―― When did you start making?
From January 2019. When I graduated from fashion school and was working as a designer's assistant, I was asked to do an exhibition together. At that time, I didn't think that I would be able to do it properly by myself.
――Why did you start?
I used to go to fashion school and I liked making things, and at the time I was only making clothes, but I was drawing collages and illustrations as a hobby. My friends saw it on social media, and they said, "Why don't you do it? " From there, I started exhibiting more and more, and it made me so happy to receive praise. I started to think that this would be nice too, so I decided to go it.
――What are you working on now?
Illustrations and graphics. I want to make clothes when I have more time in the future. I'm still making t-shirts, but it's not a brand, so I want to combine my knowledge of clothing and other things and do it when I'm in my 30s. I just don't want to be limited to one thing.
――What do you think is the most impressive work that you have made so far?
Last year I did a lot of exhibitions by myself, and this year I was hoping to get some offers. Then, I got an offer for a CD jacket of Laura day romance. I listened to all the songs and I made it based on how I felt about the songs. It was the first offer for me and was the first album for Laura day romance as well so I think we were able to make the album in the best way we could.
――What kind of exhibitions have you done in the past?
Magnet exhibition, exhibition at a meat bar in a restaurant, shoes-themed exhibition, exhibition at the ROCKET in Omotesando, and POPUP at ISETAN Restyle.
――Do you need inspiration?
Yes I do.
――Where do you get it from?
I don't get much influence from someone else, maybe when I'm having a conversation like this or going somewhere, I get it naturally. When I think something is good, I write it down.
