――What do you think your works’ strength is?
well, in my opinion, I think it’s originality and freedom of the colors. A lot of people say ‘i’ve never seen a work like this’. My main goal as an artist has been to protect my own identity, and I am trying to be myself. For me, the most important thing in my artist career is the search for language. If you see my works, you can see the language that connects all the work. I am trying to preserve my own purity. I search for my language and a different possibility. When I’m painting oil, I can not really search for it while I paint, but with the digital, I can because I can change how I want to draw every minute.
So that is one of my main strengths as well. personal language. you can recognize my work, it’s not similar to any other work. This is very me.
—You draw something you cannot see for example memories, emotions, etc, we wonder how hard that is?
For me, it’s very very hard to draw something that I am looking at.
――Why is that?
My art is a hidden process to me because I put myself in a state of peace, freedom, inspiration, floating. There’s no mistake. It’s like Jazz, it gives a few notes and free after that. For me, I set the color of backgrounds, the direction of the force, and the mood and it changes after that. I don’t want to break anything by planning beforehand. I am not an artist, but a part of the art.
――How do you think the art scene would change because of COVID?
It’s difficult. The art scene now in general is very challenging. Covid is obviously is a setback for sales even for art. Not many people buy a piece of art in this situation.
But on the other hand, many people have been encouraged to connect on digital like Instagram. For my works, they are designed to be shown on digital, so for me, I don’t need a big space or big galleries but one monitor. But actually many people have asked me if I am selling the physical work, not the digital one.
Digital ones are going to look the same in the future, but Oil painting is not. So I think digital is the future of art.
But I am a kind of an outsider, I am running in my own path so. But yea I think it’s going to be digital. Now actually there are many online galleries that contacted me to exhibit my works, and they show my works for free and I think that’s very interesting because there are more platforms to communicate. I communicate with the rest of the world and with people that I never thought that I could be possible to take with, like now. So I think moving online would work and be interesting as well. And I think Instagram is a very powerful way to let your work to be known by the world.
