――When did you start taking pictures?
I originally started taking my camera to school when I was in junior high school, but I didn't really start taking pictures until I was in college. In high school, I worked behind the scenes as the manager of the dance club, which gave me even more opportunities to take pictures. I was originally interested in design, but the people around me told me that photography would be better for me. I was originally interested in design, but after a casual comment from someone around me who said, "I think photography is better," I decided to pursue photography. That's when I decided to take up photography.
――Is there a moment or a place that makes you want to take a picture?
I like people, so I want to take pictures of people. So when I meet someone, I want to take a picture of them, and just having their picture in my hand makes me happy.
――What are some of the difficulties you face while taking pictures?
There are times when I don't feel like taking pictures. When that happens, I think it's when I haven't met anyone.
――Now that you're not seeing as many people as you would like, has your desire to shoot decreased?
At first, I was less motivated, but when the situation calms down, I'll meet that person. But when the situation calmed down, I would start to feel more positive and motivated. I still like people! (laughs)

――Do you need inspiration?
(laughs) Do you need inspiration? I think it's good if it's beneficial to your work, but if it's too much and it's similar to other things, it's not your work. I think it's good if there's originality somewhere.
――What are your inspirations?
I'm inspired by magazines. I'm also inspired by photography books and movies.
――Recently, you have been interested not only in photography but also in design.
What is your ideal form of design, and what would you like to do in the future?
I went to Finland on a solo trip once, and it became my favorite country. So I decided to make a travel diary of my trip to Finland, and that's when I made it. When I showed the finished product to my parents, they said, "It's nice. I was so happy to hear that. After that, I posted it on Instagram, and someone who had originally thought it was nice said, "I want to see that. I wanted to see it. I was self-satisfied, but I delivered the travel diary to the person's workplace.
――Is it like a zine or a magazine?
It's a magazine. I love magazines. I can't stay away from magazines.

――What is your process for making a magazine or zine?
Just an idea! I make them based on my memories. I don't make drafts or anything, I just go with my feeling. I just go with it.
――Where do you make your works?
In the living room of my house, I guess. I tend to make a mess of things, so it's easier to work on a big table.
