Hmmm. Well, I don't know. Maybe I do.
―――Where do you get it from?
I get a lot of inspiration from the social networking sites of people I like to eat with. My good friends are the same, but I'm also influenced by their posts and words. There are a lot of food lovers out there, and I think that there are people who have a completely different perspective from mine. I'm a liberal arts major, so I've been thinking that there are people whose point of view is completely different from mine. It's so good! Delicious! But those people think mathematically. If there is a tangerine, I can only see the skin. I can only see the surface. But the people I admire, they can feel every single grain inside the thin skin of the orange. It's like that. I was only able to see this part. I should try harder. Mr. Hirano, a gourmet, is a person who never uses words like "delicious" or "great," but is very good at interpreting and putting into words his own interpretation of a single food. Seeing his posts, I was influenced to start my own zine. I also really like Mr. Iwai of Halaichi. He tells really interesting stories, so I thought it would be interesting if he could put sentences together like that. I think that's what inspired me to write essays.
―――Do you have any aspirations?
I admire Mr. Hirano, as I mentioned earlier.
―――Do you listen to background music while working?
Radio, I guess. I'm not listening to it. I just play it.
―――How many works have you made so far?
I've made three zines.
"Just right, just right."
"Trauma Revolution".
"Maru Sankaku Machi Chuka".
―――What do you think your strengths and the strengths of your works are?
If I had to pick one, I'd say that there are a lot of people my age who like to eat, but not many people who really put it into form. That's why I made the zine. It was completely self-serving, but I think it gave me an advantage.
―――What do you hope in your work?
There aren't many people in the younger generation who like old stores, so I hope that by sending out my message, even if it's just around me, there will be more people who like.
